Rockwall County has taken a step toward improving efficiency and resident access with the opening of the new Rockwall County Courthouse Annex. After just over a year of construction, the facility is now open to the public at 1101 Yellow Jacket Lane, located adjacent to the existing Rockwall County Courthouse. This new building will centralize several key county services.
The new Courthouse Annex is designed to streamline a variety of essential county functions. It will house several departments, including voting services, veteran assistance, indigent health care, and building permitting. In the coming months, the county tax office is also slated to relocate to the new building from the Historic Downtown Courthouse.
While the primary judicial functions will continue inside the main courthouse next door, the new annex is a step towards modernization in Rockwall County.
